Hunter Education Academy Registration Form

Indiana Hunter Education is now mandatory for hunters born after December 31, 1986. Older hunters are finding they, too, need Hunter Education certification to hunt in other states. It is important that all Hunter Education courses throughout the state are complete and consistent. By attending the Academy, you will be provided with tools that your will help classes meet or exceed Indiana’s minimum requirements and expectations. Programs include wildlife management, hunting ethics, teaching techniques, as well as pointers for the basic disciplines of rifle, shotgun, archery and tree stand safety. Networking with other instructors and DNR staff will get you recharged and excited about Hunter Education again.

4-H Shooting Sports Workshop Registration Form

Each year IDNR’s Hunter Education Program, in association with Purdue University, provides two training workshops for the 4-H Shooting Sports Program. This training is required to be a volunteer instructor in a county 4-H Shooting Sports Program.  Register today to become a certified 4-H Shooting Sports Volunteer Instructor.

The Indiana Hunter Education Association, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division, Outdoor Education Section sponsors the Indiana Volunteer Instructor, Indiana Teaching Team and Indiana Conservation Officer district recognition awards. This is an opportunity to show our appreciation to the men and women who go beyond what is required of them as Hunter and Trapper Education Instructors. The Association is very proud to sponsor this instructor recognition. The volunteer instructor, teaching team and Indiana Conservation Officer who are chosen from each district will be honored at the Indiana Hunter Education Association Banquet on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at the Pines Evergreen Room in Seymour, IN.
