Truer words could not have been spoken about pencil to paper; these words were spoken by Andrew Loomis. Andrew Loomis was a pioneer in 1930s advertising for Coca-Cola and the art of drawing figures; the Loomis method is still taught today.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past 10 years, Hannah (Beck) Green has brought to life the logos for the Indiana National Archery in the School Program (NASP)\u00ae Bullseye and 3D State Tournament.  However, sometimes, everyone needs a (slight) break. This past July, members of the Indiana Hunter Education Association Marketing Team and some Indiana Basic Archery Trainers were sitting around a table, playing the most intense game of Uno, when the idea was tossed about: having a logo design contest for this coming tournament year. The contest would give Indiana NASP students a chance to showcase their art and design skills. In addition, it would give students across the state a chance to be a part of the program off the ranges. The winner of the contest would win a fully customized Genesis\u00ae Bow of their choice in addition to have their artwork be the inspiration for the new logo, which would be featured on the t-shirts, awards, and additional promotional items! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural contest ran from November 12 to December 10. During that time, we received 24 submissions from students across the state. Each submission was reviewed by Tim Beck, Indiana NASP\u00ae Coordinator, Chris Clark, Indiana NASP\u00ae Tournament Coordinator, and the IHEA Marketing Committee. Once in agreement, the winner, Levi Trenkamp from Batesville Middle School, was announced via\u00a0social media<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0when Hannah Green and Jared Beck went to\u00a0work turning Levi\u2019s inspirational design into\u00a0a reality.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was excited to see the designs of our students. I like the chance for the kids to be a part of the tournament in a different way. It brings the students to the tournament, rather than the tournament bringing in the kids.\u201d Tim Beck stated that when I asked him his thoughts on the tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah had a few words to say as well: \u201cOpening the logo design contest to students gave all of us a glimpse into what they think Indiana NASP\u00ae<\/sup> is. I hope that the contest has allowed those to explore the graphic design field in a fun and unique way.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We at Indiana NASP\u00ae<\/sup> would like to congratulate Levi on his hard work and design inspiration for our 2026 Bullseye State Tournament logo. We also want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who submitted their designs. We hope that after the success of the inaugural contest, many more will return to submit their ideas for the 2027 Design Contest. I know for a fact that the marketing team is already looking forward to what next year has to offer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
